King Bull blend the Who and the Strokes for fun night of rock and roll

With alcohol sales now having to cease by 10 p.m., shows are starting to start early.

King Bull returned to the Slice, Sept. 4. Photo by Richard Amery

So I only caught the very end of Red Deer rockers King Bull’s set at the Slice, Saturday, Sept. 4.

They were all dressed in leather jackets and sunglasses, doing their best Strokes impression.

They played upbeat, energetic rock and roll garage rock and punk music. They had a lot of energy and adenoidal vocals.

They were called back for an encore of an intense, super fast version of the Who’s “Baba O’ Riley.”
