Bailey Kate had a good sized crowd for her CD release party for her new CD “Within / Without,” Sept. 29.
They had a couple of opening acts. I caught the last couple songs from Max and the Minimums. Max Hopkins, dressed up in zombie ghost make up wound up the set on keyboards.
Calgary’s Wyatt C Lewis was happy to take the stage after with a sedate set of mellow acoustic guitarpowered singer songwriter material.
He was reminiscent of James Taylor with a bit of the R and B and soul of James Blunt.
As usual Bailey Kate and her band played a mellow set of appealing dream pop and ambient indie rock.
But they switched gears and picked up the tempo for a ’50s doo wop feel for another song.
