This is the week to tickle your funny bone and rock

Get ready to laugh during another busy week in Lethbridge beginning tonight, Monday, March 21.

 Mike Edel returns to Lethbridge to play a special show at the old Firehall with Kyle Church.

 

 Luke James Bruce returns to Mojos to host their  new open mic.

 

 And the Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra continues their 60th anniversary celebration  with LSO 60th at the Cinema Some of your favourite films scores tonight, March 21 at the Southminster United Church. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m.Tickets range from $25-$75. Selections include the Twentieth Century Fox Theme, Love theme froM EL CI, the Godfather, Star Wars, The Mission, Jurassic park and much more.

 

 Tickets are on sale today for Cirque Du Soleil’s production of Ova, running May 27-29.

 Tickets range from $58-$169 for adults; $48-$116 for children 2-12 and family packs for $64 - $118.50.

 OVO is described as a “ non-stop riot of energy and movement,” featuring  a show stopping acrobatics as the performers tell the story of a new day in the life of insects. Performances are at 7:30 p.m., Friday, May 27; 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Saturday, May 28 and at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., Sunday, May 29.

 

As usual, Tuesday night is the Owl Acoustic lounge’s weekly open mic and Wednesday means jazz at the Watertower from 6-8 p.m.

 

Comedian Britany Lyseng hosts ladies night at Good Times, Thursday, March 24 with Katie Westman, Alex Carr, Faris Hytiaa and host Megan Windle. Then laughs begin at 8 p.m.. Tickets are $15 online or $20 at the door.

 This is just  one of many  opportunities to tickle your funny bone.

 Calgary comedian Tim Nutt  will be making you laugh on March 25 at the Place at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20.

 Over at Good Times,Alex Carr will be performing, March 25 and 26 at 8 p.m. each night. Tickets are $16.67 through Showpass.

 Drunk Improv returns to Didi’s Playhaus, Saturday, March 26. The Cherry Popping Edition begins at7 p.m. Pay what you can tickets are available through www.theatreoutre.com.

 

 Even Sisters Pub has live entertainment this week as they welcome  Jennie Ogilvie—the Unconventional Medium and singer songwriter Amy Bishop. performing from 7-9 p.m.. Tickets are $64.67 though Eventbrite or $60 at the door..

Honkers Pub has a big weekend planned as they celebrate their 25th birthday.

Train Wreck (Breanne Urban Dobler, Kelly Klimchuck & James Nagy) hosts the Open mic on Friday,March 25.

 The usual suspects will be playing at Honkers Pub’s big birthday bash on Saturday, March 26 with live acoustic music beginning at 4 p.m. with The Trippy Hippys, Coda Lite, Steve Keenan, Dueling Pianos, Mark Hall & Jack Horne.

 

 There is more than one way to rock this weekend.

 If you missed the Bridgette Yarwood band at the Slice this past weekend, they will be performing at Casino Lethbridge, March 25 and 26.

 The Slice has a big night of rock on Friday with Twenty Centuries of Stony Sleep, who have just released their new CD “Winter” taking the stage with Pomeranian Fight Club and the Waterfront.

Lawless Murphy  will be playing classic rock and country music at the Slice, Saturday, March 26. Admission is $10.

Speaking of the ’70s, Bread Milk and Honey have a ’70s Party, Saturday, March 26 with live music, drinks, desserts and food. Tickets are $22.23 through Eventbrite.

The Slice has an interesting contrast on Saturday as Skinny Dyck will be sharing the stage with local punk band Face Cut beginning at 9 p.m.

 The Owl Acoustic Lounge also has an interesting contrast this week.Country band Midnight Shadows perform, Friday , March 25.

 The next night, it is all about hip hop  and DJs at the Owl  Acoustic lounge as Hypesetterz. Thug Shells and Phenomenorm and more  will be performing beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance.
